The Paralee Family Reunion

Well, mom swore off road trips until I was able to enjoy DVDs in the car, but this year Uncle Brit was in charge of the family reunion. He worked so hard to put it all together that mom and Aunt Sissy decided to make the trip. I did really well this time. I slept the whole time from Destin to Jones, AL which is right outside Selma. We had a good time and we met lots of people that were very special to my mommy's nanny and great aunts. The food was really good too, but of course all I got was formula :-( Then mommy, Aunt Sissy, grandmommy and I went to Selma to visit some of nanny's cousins. It was nice to meet all of them, but boy I was tired. I only ate one more time that day and then slept for like 7 hours. Mommy kept checking on me to make sure I was alright. Then we all stayed in a hotel. It was my first night in a hotel and it was fun because mommy just let me sleep in the bed with her. I was sad when we had to leave to come back home, but I get to see my grandmommy and pa-paw at the end of this month and I am very excited!

This is the Jones Community Center where the family reunion was held. Mommy remembers coming here when she was like 5 years old. It is really pretty out there, but was very far away.

When we went to Selma, we went to New Live Oak Cemetary where mommy's great aunts and uncles and their family are buried. It is really pretty out there. The mossy oak trees make it look like something you would see in Savannah. It is gorgeous and peaceful.
My grandmommy brought me a toy. We named him Aubie. I had fun looking at him and trying to grab him. He is almost as long as I am!

My grandmommy feeding me at the reunion. I was trying to talk to her here.

This is Jean Prince. She is one of mommy's nanny's cousins... Mommy grew up visiting her and her sisters and has lots of fun memories of them. Juanita and Margaret were not able to make the trip this year, but we went to see them instead.

Uncle Brit had to give a presentation our families background. He got really nervous but did such a great job! We were all so proud of him!

This is Fuzzy. He is another distant relative that is really neat. He is a photographer and has taken many pictures of famous people. He has even photographed John F Kennedy! Pretty cool. His wife's name is Elsie, but mommy didn't have a picture with her.

My grandmommy held me a lot. Not many other people got their turn, but that was fine with me because I miss her..... a lot!!!!

They give an award for the youngest attendee and we thought we had it in the bag until another baby came in that was much smaller than me. Believe it or not, we were born on the same day and I won because she was born early in the morning. I looked like a 6 month old compared to her and I was only 10 weeks old at the reunion!

Another pic of Uncle Brit and I. I miss him too!
I got to see my great uncle Steve again. He went to dinner with us too that night, but I slept the whole time!
