It's been so long, I almost forgot my password

So the title says it all. I haven't blogged in so long I nearly forgot my password. This is obviously a busy time for everyone, but it seems lately that extra time does not exist. So much has changed since Halloween. Davis is so incredibly mobile now (hence the lack of time). He crawls at the speed of lightning and gets into anything and everything. He is so much fun to watch and it is awesome to just sit back and observe him explore. He is eating table food, which most of the time ends up all over him, the high chair seat and the dogs mouths :-) At least he is starting to get the hang of it and it allows me 30 minutes to do things around the house because he is happily contained.

We had our 9 month checkup a couple of weeks ago and he is 29 inches and 23 pounds which puts him in the 75 and 95 percentiles respectively. He is absolutely perfect! He has been sick a good bit lately, but hasn't everyone??? It is really hard on us when he is sick because he is still such a happy baby, I honestly can't always tell if something is wrong. My perfect little angel!!!!

Thanksgiving was wonderful. John, Davis and I stayed here and I cooked homemade mac and cheese, homemade mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, stuffing and rolls. Our trusty Honey Baked Ham provided the ham and turkey! We had a blast, watched football and ate way too much! Davis especially liked the turkey and mac and cheese. Unfortunately, my camera was dead so I didn't get any pictures :-( I am very thankful for my amazing family!

Here are some pictures and videos I have taken over the last few days. You'll have to wait for the good Christmas poses until our cards go out... which by the way, my computer crashed which had my Christmas list on it. Fingers crossed it is still on there when they rebuild the computer!

Davis loves his bath. He would splash and play until he fell asleep if I would let him.

Davis not liking the table food provided, oops!

Full and content!

Add Video
Davis starting clicking after he finishes his food. It sounds like he is smacking...too cute!

Yes I realize Davis just has on a diaper, but he was in full effect and wanted to catch him in action. Notice the "mama" at the end! He is also saying bah, bah, nah, nah, wah, wah and of course he says da, da all the time still. He will actually sit around babbling like he is talking to himself. I'll try to get that on video soon.

Davis has started throwing back to us. Needless to say, daddy is loving this milestone. He may not know what he is doing, but it is a fun game. John makes me laugh because he gets really excited that JD is favoring his left arm for throwing. I seriously doubt you can tell at this age, but John has high hopes for a left handed pitcher. I would love that too, because then we could stay away from concussions and broken bones in football. But whatever our little man wants to play when he is old enough, I will be willing to try. I just will need a lot of moral support to watch him play anything physical.

Last video for tonight. Mom sent Davis a turkey that sings and dances for Thanksgiving. Davis is terrified of Gooble Gooble (Beth's nickname for the toy). He litterally threw it across the room today when he saw it on "his" bed in the nursery. Yet again, a Kodak moment captured in his diaper. I swear I dress him, but he is always so happy and active right after he eats, which is also when he is the most dirty... therefore the stripped clothes. He is ALLLLLL BOY!!!!!

Davis' 1st Halloweenie!

I have never spent this little time on 3 new posts, but I have been itching to get these pictures downloaded. I will try to get some more pictures and blogs downloaded when I have more time. Here are some pictures of Davis' 1st Halloween. Davis dressed as a monkey at school for the Roane School Trick or Treat Party. The kids looked so cute dressed up! We decided to have a costume change for the evening. Davis was the cutest Elvis I have ever seen. John and I took him out to Baytowne Wharf for dinner and a little showing off :-) He will have so much fun out there next year. The entire Village at Baytowne was swarming with little Supermans and witches. It was precious! Enjoy!

Davis' Baptism

Davis was baptized October 26, 2008 at Destin United Methodist Church by Dr. Ken Taylor. Davis did wonderful and other than being a bit fidgety was a perfect angel. My family was able to make it so we got to see Uncle Brit and Jason, Great Uncle Steve, Grandmommy and Papaw and of course Aunt Beth. Unfortunately Grandma and Grandpa Brown weren't able to make the trip again because they had just come to Destin for vacation. Aunt Vicky is pregnant with our 3rd niece or nephew, so the Beans were there in spirit too. We missed them terribly, but I promise to get a copy of the video to them soon! We have a video of the baptism, but everyone forgot to take pictures at the church. We went to lunch at The Back Porch afterwards and got some pictures on the beach. Here are a few....(I will download more later)

Mommy and Daddy's Trip to Key West

John and I took a much needed break from work and responsibility earlier this month. Mom and Dad kept Davis and he had such a good time. I have some pictures of him playing at Grandmommy's and Papaw's but I still have to download them. They went to the pumpkin patch and cotton field. Needless to say everyone had a blast. John and I really enjoyed spending time together and relaxing. Thank you mom and dad for keeping little man! I couldn't have enjoyed myself if I was worried about Davis. We both missed him terribly, but had a great time!

Davis' "6 month or so" photo shoot

If any of you follow the links to my friends blogs you would swear that I copy Barkley! The Busby's are some of my best friends and it is so funny because everytime I have something new to blog, I notice she has just posted something similar. Great minds think alike!!! (not to mention our children are only 3 weeks apart, so they are so close with each milestone, fun!!!)

Okay, so I kept saying I would do professional 6 month pictures and then I realized he was way to close to 8 months and really, who pays money for an 8 month photo shoot. So I bought Davis some cute fall outfits, packed him and my camera up and headed out to Watercolor. They have some beautiful photog spots with great lighting a pretty backgrounds. My camera also has a feature that snaps 3 shots really fast, so if you get an eye closed or miss a smile your odds are better to catch them. So 150 shots later, I came out with nearly 50 REALLY GOOD pictures! I posted them on snapfish and made some black and white. Hmmmmmm, should I try to add photographer to my resume' along with the many other titles I am accruing? Nahhhh, but it was fun for an outing. I still have a dressy outfit I want to show him off in, but the sun got to bright and we were both squinting. So here are the results of our "6 month or so" photo shoot in Watercolor. Enjoy!

Monkey wanted a few pictures today too!

Mommy's favorite picture!

Davis has graduated to his BIG BOY carseat :-(

Yes, I am standing up unattended now. Where did time go?

I'd rather play with dirt than silly flowers!

Our New Mobile World!

Wow! Things are changing quickly in the Brown House. First of all, our furniture is now positioned so Davis can have full run of the den. There is now a quilt on the floor covered with toys where there used to be a nice rug. The rug gets in his way though when he gets going in his walker. Here is a very short clip of him in his walker this morning. (Sorry the video is so dark, it was very early this morning.) Yesterday he would only scoot backwards, but needless to say I think he has got it now! He has been playing in it now for an hour. He'll walk over to the dogs and pet them, then walk over to the couch and pet the blankets. "Da-daing" the whole time. He is still not saying momma except for that first day, but I am totally okay with that :-) Of course, everyone is dada... mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, even the dogs. Davis has also picked up clicking. He will click his tongue for about 2 minutes and then laugh hysterically like it is the funniest thing in the word. He clicked for 45 minutes in Best Buy while I was setting up a new phone service. He is so much fun!!!!

Swimming with Grandma and Grandpa Brown

First of all, LOOK at little man's rolls! He is a very healthy eater to say the least. Grandma and Grandpa Brown are here for vacation and invited us over to swim and eat dinner. Davis is a FISH!!! He loves the water and doesn't mind one second if it gets in his face. I guess it is a good thing but on the flip side, I don't want him to get too comfy with the water. I think we are going to start swimming lessons in the next month or so. Anyway, we had such a good time with Mack and Debby! We swam and then ate a great dinner. Davis passed out on the pallet on the floor and then fell right back asleep once we got home. He is spending all day with the grandparents tomorrow! He is so excited. I hope he doesn't wear them out. He is quite the handful these days, but it is so much FUN!
